Can't ping own machine

Have new network with Netgear router, main computer xp,
second is 98. I can ping the win98 and the router but
not my own. also am able to get out on internet
 
more info I have two netgear FA311's in my XP one is to
the internet and the other is to the router via ethernet,
from the router the win98 is wireless. From the xp I can
ping all but myself. from the 98 I and ping all but the
xp. I have uninstalled the fa311's and reinstalled them.
Still can not ping self. Any help would be great.
 
Chedk firewall settings...I have the same problem when my
Norton Internet Security is turned on...
