Can't open or view emails in Outlook 2007

G

Guest

I upgraded from Office 2003 to Office 2007 (non-beta) and upgraded from XP to
Vista (32).

Outlook was fine for about a week then all of a sudden I can't open email or
view it in the preview pane. I get the error "Cannot open this item. The
text formatting command is not available. It may not be installed correctly.
Install Microsoft Office Outlook again."

I removed Outlook, rebooted, and re-Added Outlook, with no change in the
error message.

I have looked for this error in the outlook newsgroups and kb but have found
nothing there about this specific issue.

Anyone know how to fix this?

I can do that, but I don't use .pst (only for achiving) files, I view them
right on my exchange server.

Can you view the messages when you disable Cached Exchange Mode? If so reset
your cache by renaming your ost-file to .old.

Disabled the Cached Exchange Mode and no change in the error.

I ran both SCANOST and SCANPST. I can't read the output file of SCANOST
because, lol, it put it in my outlook and I can't read any emails in outlook.
I ran SCANPST on the .ost file and it said that there were "internal errors"
and fixed them, but again, no change in my error.

No. It seems to be fine with another user on the same computer.

I solved the problem.

All I had to do was create a new profile.

Works fine now.
