can't open "click here" in e-mails

When trying to "click here" on e-mails that will direct me to another web
site or more info, I can't do it. My pointer hand shows a yellow X in the
corner and then nothing happens! Also can't open some links. Same thing with
the hand! Any idea as to what is going on!
Thanx

I too need HELP! on this. There are several posts stating the same problem.
Can anybody out there help?? I suggested doing a system restore, but that
only works for a few days. It must be a virus or hijack or something. My
ISP couldn't even help. Can or will MS back their products? Can I post a
new question in this discussion group? Answer NO.

Try this: in IE, click Tools>Internet Options>Programs>Reset Web Settings.

Of course. This newsgroup, though, is not an official support channel for
Microsoft. See the MS web site for the official channels.

Of course. You just proved it by doing so.

Thank You Brian! I will certainly try this - the problem is on my sister's
computer downstairs. We have tried just about everything. Now she's getting
double emails again. When I asked if I could ask a new question, I meant,
start a new thread. When I click on that icon, nothing happens. Also, the
only way I can sign in is to try and reply to an existing post as there is no
sign in button.

Use a real newsreader instead of the web interface. This group is, for
example,
news://msnews.microsoft.com/microsoft.public.outlook.general . If you click
this link, the newsgroup should open in Outlook Express or whatever you have
set in the "Newsgroups" field of Internet Explorer's Tools>Internet
Options>Programs tab.
