Can't install Office 2007

Finally Microsoft's policies have really gotten me upset. I will be therefore
changing all of my computers to run Open Office. However, I would like an
answer to the question that I had and could not find an answer to on any
Microsoft site and could not contact them without paying for the contact.

My question is that I purchased a DVD of Office 7 Standard Edition last
year. It worked fine. I had to format my main drive because of a virus. I
tried to install Office 7 again, the key works fine except a window is asking
for the place of a previous versionof Office. Obviously that is not possible
to do because I wiped everything off the disc. HOW DOES ONE Install Office 7
in this case???

Don't you have the original discs from your previous version of Office?
This is something that has allways been that way. You Office 2007 is
obviously an upgrade version which is less expensive than a new version. If
you can find an original disc, you should be able to install it.

Perhaps you purchased an upgrade. Then there must be something to
upgrade from. So you would first install your previous version, then
the upgrade.

You don't have to install the previous version. If you have the original
disc from the previous version, you can insert that disc when prompted and it
will install.
