Hi i recently bought World of Warcraft and was excited to play it. It
requires me to install directx 9.0c (I currently have 9.0b) It has the
install files on the game's cd, but when i tried to install it it came up
with the window telling me that it isn't digitally signed but had no option
to install anyway just to cancel. So i then went into windows update to
nstall it and window update required me to install new window update files.
When i went to do that it said it failed to install them. My last resort was
to find a mirror to download it. I did and when i ran it, it instantly went
from beginning to completed. Alas again when i ran dxdiag it still read as
9.0b (yes i restarted the computer) and dxdiag also freezes up now. Please
help me i must play World of Warcraft!!!!

I have the same problem as tommy boy, I tried your solution Jupiter jones
mulitple times and am on my fourth hour trying various other solutions. I
have donloaded all driver updates and service packs aswell as updates to
windows(even the ones that were irrelevant ex:windows media player) any help
would be much appreciated! as this is most frustrating. I am not computer
illiterate but I figured if there was anywhere to find computer-gods who
could help it would be here. Thank you for your time. Please feel free to
reply here or e-mail me. Also my buisness phone has unlimited long distance
so if need be comunication by telephone is very possible.

Excuse me, but if you have all the service packs installed, Direct X 9.0c is
included in XP SP2. Hence, if you installed Service Pack 2. Direct X 9.0c
should already be installed.
