DirectX 9.0c problem

I am trying to install FIFA 2007, but whenever i try it fails because it says
i need DirectX 9.0c. I have it already. When i try to install it from CD it
stops half way and it says Failed. I can play games that need directX 9.0b. I
also tried installing some other newer games and it also says i need that
directX. I started having this problem about 2 months ago. Before that i
already played FIFA 2007.Now it wont install.So, please help. Also in dxdiag
it says DirectX 9.0c also.

Have you tried downloading the latest version of DX9.0c from the website?

If your ver of DX9c is the latest you won't be able to install an older ver..
Check in the DX diagnostic tool and see if the DX files tab, notes, report
no problems found.. If so you need to reinstall the game making sure to click
no to trying to install DX9c from the CD, it may be an older ver..
When installing the game make sure your installing to the same dir that it
was in originally, you should be given the choice to install, modify, or
repair the game..
If your concerned about your saved games, backup the saved games folder,
usually when you uninstall the game it will leave them.. If you are
installing the game multiple times, in other areas on different partitions,
this might be what's causing the problem..? Using add remove programs to
remove the game, you may be prompted as described above to uninstall, modify,
repair, click repair..

Well, when I go to DirectX Files tab, there are no problems. In Network tab,
in Notes section it says "You should reinstall DirectX to get the latest
version."
When im installing the game, the problem is, you cant cancel the directX
installation.
After "I Agree" window it shows "Please wait", then asks me if i allow it to
go to microsoft for something and then starts copying.Even when i dont allow
it to go to Microsoft it still tries to install. Installation of DirectX
stops when its about to or has finished installing file called
dmbase.dll. About save games that isnt important, but anyway, FIFA saves are
stored in My documents. Im downloading now file called
directx_dec2006_redist.exe (59.2mb). I hope that will help.

If the game is directing you to the MS Update site for the latest DX9c ver
and it is available get it, there been a few updates to DX9c this year.. If
you still have problems try the DX diagnostic tools troubleshooter..
