Can't install DirectX 9.0b

Hi guys,

I am have troubles installing DirectX 9 on my machine (I
run on Windows XP Home).
The installation would start and stop a few inutes later
with a message saying that the software I am tryinf to
install did not pass the window logo or something of the
sort. Then a warning pops up saying that DirectX did not
copy a required file. And I can't go any further.
i have been to lots of forums and found that other users
had the same problem. Only, no one gives a solution. I
downloaded the full directX redistribution from the
microsoft web site, disabled anti-virus, cleared my TEMP
folders, started the Cryptography Service. But it still
fails to install.

What the hell is wrong with the thing??!!!!

Does anyone know what the problem is?
