Can't Install Additional Windows Components

T

Tom

Hi,

When I try to install additional windows components from
the Control Panel (Add/Remove Programs) or CD, I get the
following error.

Setup library NTOC.dll could not be found, or function
NTOCSetupProc could not be loaded. The specific error
code is 0x7e.

Is there a fix for this short of reloading Windows XP.

Thanks,

Tom

This error usually occurs when the NTOC.dll file is corrupt (which could be
caused by bad hardware - disk?). You can try an in-place upgrade that should
resolve the problem (barring any hardware issues).
