Can't Install Additional Components

Hi,

When I try to install additional windows components from
the Control Panel (Add/Remove Programs) or CD, I get the
following error.

Setup library NTOC.dll could not be found, or function
NTOCSetupProc could not be loaded. The specific error
code is 0x7e.

Is there a fix for this, short of reloading Windows XP.

Hi Tom,

Not sure if this will resolve your issue, but it's worth a try. You may be
prompted for XP cd
1.Go to Start > Run and enter cmd
2.Enter sfc /scannow

SFC, system file checker, will replace protected system files in the event
they have been overwritten or replaced by unauthorized versions.
