Can't get rid of old Intel files in XP Pro

My OEM mobo had Intel Extreme Graphics onboard. I am now TWO mobos down the
line, and use a Radeon card. When I try to delete the 221 files associated
with IGFX and igfxtray, I'm told they can't be deleted because "can't read
from source file or disk." There IS NO disk, it was pre-installed. When I
try to delete the files individually, it screws up my monitor, and seems to
un-install the drivers for my Radeon card. How do I get rid of this headache?

When installing a new mb,you need to reinstall xp,even if its the same board,
the oem do substitute chips.Does current board have on-board video...

No onboard vidoe. It's a ASUS P5P800. I've put in the third mb in three
weeks. I dislike convincing MS each time that it's the same system (?), so
I've been doing a "repair existing", then a "dynamic update", so I don't have
to make all those phone calls and type in all those #s. BTW, XP is not
recognizing my DVD drive and CD drive by name now, though the mb does. Could
that be related to the lack of a "fresh" re-install?

Two points;

For the purposes of Microsoft Activation (OEM version), the Motherboard
*IS* the computer.
No need to "convince" Microsoft otherwise.

Second; if you are too lazy to "type in all those numbers" (a whopping 25
of them), then you do not deserve any help anyway. Some effort on your part
is both expected and required.

Try again when you gain a little maturity.

Thank you for the help, bad dog. you certainly answered my questions fully
and competently. Firstly, the product key is not my problem, it's the
interminable wait to speak to someone I do not know, and cannot understand,
to activate my (non-OEM) program. You must be either a Microsoft employee,
or a valued asset on their discussion groups, as you obviously have the same
attitude about "customer support," and the same arrogance so prevalent in the
MS mindset. If new users likes and dislikes are so offensive to you, why do
you even cruise sites like this. I sincerely hope you receive all that you
so richly deserve. Fortunately, there are forums where people actually help
without a critique. That being the case, I shall not return to this one.
Thank you again.
