Can't download *.exe files

Pierre

Running OS WIN2000PRO, Internet Explorer ver.
6.0.2600.0000IS, running Zone Alarm

Ran Norton AntiVirus - no viruses (definition date: April
16/04)

Logged onto Norton website, attempted to download latest
virus definition (.exe) file, window blinks once and the
following page is displayed:

The page cannot be displayed
The page you are looking for is currently unavailable. The
Web site might be experiencing technical difficulties, or
you may need to adjust your browser settings.

I tried downloading other types of files with no problem.

Was on the phone with AOL support and they cant seem to
find out what's wrong.

Is there a setting in Internet Explorer or somewhere else
that blocks downloading of .exe files???
Please help!

Does that use a normal link?
Have you tried using right-click, Save As... ?

I guess its a normal link - I've been using AOL for some
time now - problem started last Friday night. Prior to
that, I would get the download window and download would
start. When I tried downloading new Norton virus
definitions, screen says download will begin and to press
link if download doesnt start - before I have a chance to
click the link, I notice that the screen flickers once and
then I get the window you would normally get if the
website you're trying to launch no longer exists.

I haven't tried the "save as" option as yet - will try it
tonight when I get home.

Any other suggestions????
