Can't Download anything from Internet Explorer

Whenever i try to doanload anything from internet explorer, like shockwave or
macromedia player, it says a prompt is supposed to pop up, and it never does.
Also, when i try to download a program, when the installer is saving, it
stops at a point, and it does not continue. Can anyone help me?

This is really a minor tip but no one should use IE (internet explorer) by
now Mozilla Firefox is a better thing to use for a internet explorer (comes
with a pop-up blocker free!). Here I'll give you a link... www.mozilla.org.
And it has a different way of downloading (does not use your internet
explorer download window so don't worry).

That downloading "stratgey" also doesnt work, it says it downloaded 878kb out
of 4.51mb downloaded, and it just stays like that. I've left ir for a half
hour, and nothing has changed. This is just speculation, but i think it has
something to do with my IE settings.
