Internet Explorer problems

I have a number of problems with Internet Explorer 7. When I right click on
Internet Explorer and try to open Internet Properties nothing happens. There
is no toolbar at the top when I open Internet Explorer. When I try to
download files from the internet, nothing happens. For example, when I try
to download Adobe Reader 8, I click on the icon that says "Download" and
nothing happens, no error message, no download, nothing. I am at wit's end
here and cannot find anything to help. Since I cannot get into Internet
Properties, I cannot get into the tools, the cache or anything else to fix
the problem. I would appreciate any help before I have to pay a pro to help.

Please try the IE7 group.
The recommended newsgroup is microsoft.public.internetexplorer.general

In a proper newsreader:

If you must use a web interface:

You might try Internet Properties from Control Panel first.
