Error - Why none web browser doesn't open .PDF file?

At the HP xw8600 Workstation joined to the domain installed Windows XP ОS Service PUCK 3. With the user rights ceased to open the .PDF files in a regular browser Internet Explorer 8.0. Thus there is a message “cannot start Reader/Adobe Reader”. Installed Adobe Reader 10. Reinstallation of Internet Explorer and Adobe Reader didn't rectify situation. HowcanIfixit?
