MSN Video with IE7 - - - HELP!!!!

Tom C

This is on a new computer. I am using IE7 on a Windows XP Pro SP3 system
with Norton Antivirus corporate edition, PC Tools Firewall Plus, Microsoft
Office 2003 and some others. Microsoft Silverlight Adobe Flash and
Shockwave plugins. I have downloaded all available security, software and
hardware updates.

When going to web video sites all is well, however when going to the MSN
Video site, I get a black box where the video is supposed to be. Clicking
an any video does nothing, However, when I use Firefox, all of the videos
are available. I have tried resetting IE to defaults and even re-installed
IE after removing all of the active X controls. (Am I missing an Active X
control specific to MSN?) I checked my firewall settings,

Here is the list of Add-ons used by Internet Explorer.
1. Adobe PDF Link Helper - Enabled
2. InformationCardSigninHelperClass - Enabled
3. Silverlight - Enabled
4. RealPlayer Download and Record Plugin for Internet Explorer - Enabled
5. Shockwave Flash Object - Enabled
6. Windows Live Sign-in Helper - Enabled
7. Windows Media Player - Enabled
8. Adobe Flash Player 10

Any ideas?

Which level of Windows Media Player? Most of Microsoft's "video"
files are based in one of Microsoft's video / audio format.
Microsoft's video / audio formats tend to "push" towards using Windows
Media Player. However, if you are using "other" media player(s,) the
"other" player(s) will take over the playing of these Microsoft media
formats.

Access the Windows Media Player and set it as the default player.

If the above does not help, you may need to locate a "mega" media
codec installer. Part of these style of downloads is a tool to "fix"
the codecs and the "default" player.
