can't do windows update

Windows Update fails to get my Win2K Pro configuration. I've already
followed the recommendations in the referenced KB article with no sussess:

display hidden files
remove temp internet files
delete stuff from the V4 folder
removed the Windows Update active-x controls
manually installed iuctl

Anything else I can do?

Are you logged on as local admin? anything in the event log? and what
was the KB article #, You could try and downloading SP4 and see what
happens.
 
One thing that I tried that worked was to add the windows update site to my
list of trusted sites in Internet Explorer.
