Hi all
I've just installed McAfee to replace AVG. Last time i did this (with an evaluation version of mcafee) it uninstalled avg for me....this time it didnt.
Not wanting two AV programs running together i've tried uninstalling AVG myself...to no avail.
When i try i get the following message "(file path)/autoexec.nt is not a suitable program to run in DOS or Windows......etc"
I've tried ending the processes relating to AVG (well...all that i know are related to it anyway) and uninstalling...nothing.
And...of course....it wont let me delete the folder AVG sits in (yes i know this is a bad way to do it but it seemed like the only remaining option) I get the "access denied" message..presumably because AVG or some part of it, is still running/or at least a file is registered as in use.

Any clues anyone?

Uninstall McAfee.
Uninstall AVG by reinstalling it and then uninstalling it.
Reinstall McAfee.

Hi,
This is not the proper way to install.Keeping one antivirus software
within the system you can't invite another antivirus software. To do that
properly you had to uninstall AVG first then to install McAfee, but
unfrtunately you didn't.So your case has become complicated. Now you have
to uninstall both (McAfee followed by AVG).Also delete the respective
folders under program files, then you try installing AVG.
