I have a HP laptop running Vista. I can connect to my home network but not to the internet. I have tried the few things I know about and as far as I can see everything is set up properly. My router is a Belkin N wireless modem router - there are 3 other pc's working fine (1 wired and 2 wireless) although they are on XP.
In the network page it always says connecting to "unidentified network" and "public" not to my network name of "micks network" (even though that is the network I click on to connect) and I have changed the network to private but it defaults back to public every time (whether this matters or not I don't know). It connected fine for a few minutes the first time I tried but since then nothing. I suspect a setting has changed without my realising. Any advice on what to try next?
