I am attempting to set up a small (3 computer) office network using peer-to
peer networking. All computers running Win2k Pro. One of the boxes does not
allow me to change the workgroup!

Any ideas?

Hi,

Figured out why. I didnt have the Microsoft Client & File Sharing protocols
installed. Once I did that, I was able to change the workgroup. (TCPIP was
already installed)

I still have problems however. I want to install a Peer 2 Peer network.
Here is my setup:

2 computers running Win2K Pro
1. Computer Name: SERVER
2. Computer Name: OFFICE

DSL connection

4 port Netgear Router (Static IP, Gateway, Subnet Mask, DNS all configured
on the Router, and is also configured as DHCP server)

All computers have Client for Microsoft Networking, File Sharing, and TCPIP
configured.
All computers are set for obtaining dynamic IP address.
All computers have username and passwords of all the other boxes.
All computers connected to the router. (All lights on).
All computers belong to the same workgroup
All computers configure for Sharing.

I can "see" OFFICE from SERVER in Network Places, but will not allow me to
access it. Error msg says path is wrong.

I cannot "see" SERVER from OFFICE. Error msg says Server not available.

Can someone please help!!!!!! I am going insane trying to figure this
out!!!!

No, I don't mean Netbeui. On the advanced properties of TCP/IP of your nic,
tab WINS, what have you checked?
