I bought a Sony Vaio laptop a year ago. I was not given any cd's or floppy's
to restore operating system when I bought it. Now the laptop does not boot
up, and gives me this message: "Reboot and Select proper boot device or
insert boot media in selected boot device and press key". I can only go into
the BIOS, I selected hard disk to see if could detect the OS but no
luck!...Please help!!...Is there any miracle solution?? Thank You!

It is normal these days for computer vendors to ship faulty products
hoping that the buyer will fix themselves!

Dell has made a provision of $450 million for faulty computers.

People would be better off buying barebone bundles and building
themselves from scratch!

Standards have deteriorated dramatically these days in pursuit of
profits and outsourcing!

Hi
if you can try to install belarc it is a free program that gives you
information on all of the programs, licenses, ram, hard drive, OS,
everything on the computer. That will be a start. You could contact
Sony to see if you can get the start up disk or the disks you might
need. I have two Sony viaos and have all the disks that came with it.
You should be able to get them
good luck

There may be a recovery partition you can use. Try tapping F10 as the bios
loads to see if you get a menu.
