Can't access files

Help, I desparate. My kid did something to my computer so
it would not start. She decided that the only way to fix
it was to reinstall windows which she did. She created
new users accounts. I can't access my old account. It was
password protected. When I try to access the file folder
under documents and settings it says access is denied. I
need these files and can't get into them. Anyone have any
Ideas.
