Problems with administrator account

I'm not sure what I did. I was trying to create a password so my daughter
can't log on to the computer when she wants. The name is use is under a
limited account so it won't let me use system restore or anything like that.
When I try to log on to the administrator's account it won't let me. It
constantly says access is denied. Any help about this would be appreciated
since when I went to the new limited account I lost everything on my
computer. Thanks.

When you say "the administrator's account" do you mean the one called
Administrator?

Do you see the logon screen that lists all the accounts? If so, which
accounts do you see there? I am not clear whether you miss seeing the one
called Administrator, or whether you accidentially set a password on the
account you usually use. Can you give us more information on exactly what
steps you are taking, what you are seeing, and what error messages the
computer shows you?

On that logon screen: there will always be at least one administrative
account there, but if there are any other administrative accounts on the
computer you won't see the one called Administrator. To use that account
you would need to hit the F8 switch during startup, when the computer tells
you to "hit F8 for advanced startup options" and then select safe mode. Then
you can log on with that account again.

When I start the computer there is an account with 'limited user'. I only
hit enter and that starts the computer. But it's like a new system. I lost
everything and had to download everything. When I went to computer
management under users there is another account that is an administrator's
account that I created, but it won't let me log in or change the password. I
keep getting access denied when I try to change the password. When I try to
log in with the current password it won't let me type the entire name or
password out. I tried this in safe mode as well and the same thing happened.
I can't use system restore or really do anything since I'm not an
administrator. I'm totally lost and frustrated.

Only one account shows up on the logon screen (the big blue screen that comes
up when you start the computer)? What exactly do you see there? What exactly
do you see in Computer Management. From what you are telling me, Computer
Management should show four accounts: Administrator, Guest, the limited one
you created, and the administrative one you created. Is that what you see?

When you start the computer and are at the welcome screen, try using
Ctrl+Alt+Del and logging on as the administrator.
