Cannot use OS Disk?

Put my Gateway Operating System disk for WIN XP Home Edition in the drive to
see if I could do any repair and msg reads "the version on my computer is
newer than the disk"! So how does that happen--with all the WIN updates? If I
uninstall SP2 can I then use the original disk that came with my computer and
must have been the same that was installed on my computer when I bought it?

Hi,

You need to slipstream SP2 into your Gateway Operating System disk.

Use AutoStreamer or nLite to make the process pretty easy.

AutoStreamer:

nLite:

If you absolutely want to do the process manually:

Aha--"slipstream" huh? Just saw that word in another post. Well, will read
all the info at sites you sent, thank you, and hope that this 78-year-old
great gramma doesn't crash her computer.
