cannot use object linking and embedding

one of my clients had the above error whilst trying to
open an excel document.

if anybody knows what causes this could they e-mail me
direct to let me know.

from what i have read it appears to be something to do
with VB but if somebody could confirm this that would be
great

We are having this issue as well, it is cropping up on all
of our machines, I cannot confirm whether it is caused by
win2000 sp4 or if it is some kind of virus that the
antivirus hasn't detected. We've been able to resolve the
issue by taking the Microsoft Office out of startup and
rebooting. It seems to also affect the control panel and
add/remove programs as well as various functions in word
and outlook. Anyone know what this is?
