Cannot print from Word, Outlook, etc.

I have Windows XP Home Edition and Microsoft office 2003. I have a problem
printing from Word, Outlook, etc. The page is either blank, very light
(unreadable) and/or has lines going through the characters.

I printed a test page on my printer (HP Deskjet 895Cse). I am also able to
print from the internet and scanner.

Not much information here, have you checked that the font and colour are
correct in the problem applications?
Have you checked that the correct drivers are installed?
How did you make a test print, from the built in capability of the printer
or from Windows Printers Test print?

I am sending this to the group because I've tried twice to send directly to
Richard and received an error. I hope responding to the group is not a
problem (this is the first time I used a newsgroup).
Anyway to answer your questions....


I checked the driver and test printed from the printer. How do you test
print from Windows? I'm not sure what you mean by checking the font and
color, but they are the same as before the problem started.
