Print Spooler Problem

W

Wayne Wengert

Environment: Win XP/SP2 Home with all updates; HP Deskjet 760C printer.

I am trying to herlp a friend whose printing suddenly started failing. We
can print the test page fine. When he prints from an application (Wordpad,
Worperfect, etc) the output is just two faint gray lines on the page. I
found that by changing the print process to print directly to the printer -
things work? Apparently, the print spooler process is corrupted. Is there a
way to re-install that?

Hi Wayne,

Have you tried stopping and restarting the print spooler service? This can
be done by running services.msc and clicking on the service. The options
will be apparent.
