Print Spooler

N

Nils Titley

I believe I have done some thing to my print spooler.

When I try printing, it will no longer print if I have the printer set to
spool the print jobs. But If I change to 'print directly' documents are
printed.

The print spooler is running.

The printer was working fine with spool prints but I think I stopped a
process. Though it does show that the spooler is running.

What do I need to change.
Thank you

what you might try
is to double click
the spooler service
in admin tools.

then there is a tab
called dependencies
which might provide
you with a clue.

Thanks for responding. That is interesting information but it does not help
me resolve my problem. I need a concrete solution.

Thanks

i agree with mm.

if everyone in the world,
including yourself had only
windows and other microsoft
products installed and nothing
else, then a concrete solution
could be provided because
your os would be rock solid
like concrete.

perhaps, the above is an
idea you should consider.

uninstall "all" antivirus's and
disable your firewall(s) and
running antivirals.

the reason the above is
plural is because there are
some people that install too
much protection which results
in either corrupting the system
or locking the users out or
prevent modifications to the
registry.

perhaps you might want to
run>regedit and utilize the
find feature for "spooler"
and "printer"

you seem computer savvy
so i think that the keys above
may provide you with additional
clues.

also, if it is any help what you
might want to do is to create
a system restore point for
"now".

then restore your pc back to
a date when your printers
were functional and compare
those registry keys to the ones
you recently examined.

afterwards, bring your system
back to now by restoring it
to the recent restore point
and modify the keys accordingly.
