Cannot print from PowerPoint 2003

When I attempt to print, print preview, page setup, I get an error that
Microsoft Office PowerPoint has encountered a problem and needs to close.
I've uninstalled and installed Office 2003, downloaded updates, etc. Nothing
seems to work.

Do you have a local printer driver installed on your PC and set as default
printer driver?
