Cannot open large file

I was working in Excel on a file of size 2.34 Mb approx.
and suddenly while saving it gave an error message and it
came out of excel.

Now the file cannot be opened. I would be highly obliged
if someone of you can guide me to open that file as it
contains imp. data.

I would like to know if there is any patch file for excel
which will help me open too large files or some other
solution?
