Cannot import .JPG, .GIF to Clip Gallery 5.0

I run MS Office 2000. In all Office applications,
including PowerPoint and Word, I get an error message when
trying to import .JPG or .GIF images from the MS Clip Art
website to Clip Gallery 5.0. Error message says .JPG
(or .GIF) is not a supported file type. Also cannot
use 'copy' feature from MS website to import clip art to
Clip Gallery.

I have checked computer registry for graphics filters for
these file types, and they exist. I have reinstalled MS
Office. Neither of these steps solved the problem.

Any suggestions?

Hi pptuser,

From the clip gallery, place a check box by the clip you
want, click on the download item link, you should get
prompted about an active X component. Then select the
radio button for clip gallery 5.0. When prompted, select
the Open button instead of the save button so they'll be
installed automatically. The file extension for your
version of clip gallery files should be *.cil
