Hello,
I have a xp home with 2 nics, I have verizon dsl with a static ip address
assigned to it. I assign the 1st nic the TCP/IP parameters from verizon and
enable ICS .The internet conncetion firewall is enabled. I get internet
connectivity no problem. The 2nd nic is assigned the automatic IP address
from ICS of 192.168.0.1 . I plugged in a crossover cable to the windows 98
machine and it's configured with Automatic IP configuration. WINS assigned
by DHCP. Client for Microsoft Networks is binded to TCP/IP, File and
Printing is Shared. The Windows 98 cannot get the DHCP parameters from the
XP Home unit. I ping without any problem and tryed releasing and renewing
only to have the win98 unit assign a default TCP/IP address of
169.254.210.246. Please help all suggestions welcomed. Thank you.

Try manually configuring the Win98 machine:

IP address: 192.168.0.2
Default gateway: 192.168.0.1
DNS server: same as 1st nic on XP machine
