Cannot get printer working with XP

A neighbour has just bought a Dell Dimension 3100. No parallel port on PC so
I got a parallel to USB cable and got her HP Officejet Pro 1175c working on
the first day but now the PC can't find a driver. HP site says XP Home should
have drivers but I can't find one on system or on Windows CD. Should there be
a suitable driver in XP or will her PC need a PCI to Parallel Port Controller
Card ?
Any advice would be very much appreciated.

HP link For current drivers.
Don't expect full functionality of an "all in one" via a USB/parallel
adapter.
Parallel cards are relatively inexpensive, and should provide a better way
to go for this printer.
