I installed a tascam audio usb interface on my HP notebook, but had to
remove it cause it will not work. I went throuth the uninstall procedure but
theres still an icon in control panel called "tascam US 122".

there is no option to delete it.
I also searched the registry and deleted everything that says us 122 except
some of the items wont be deleted message says "error deleting".

win xp home HP notebook pavillion.

Greg, you can try TweakUI for WinXP. It has a feature that removes Icons
from CP. If that doesnt work you could try the
Registry. Start>Run type: regedit. Navigate to
Hkey_Local_Machine\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Current Control
Set\Control Panel>Cpls Look in the rt pane for an entry and delete
it.
