I'm trying to install The Oregon Trail (The Learning Company) on my laptop.
I'm running WIN XP PRO. During installation, at 13%, I keep getting a
message:

"Severe" is written on the blue bar
[Red X] "Cannot Create Directory."
"Current File *.*"

I am logged on as the administrator.

I tried copying all the files from the CD to my hard drive and installing
from there... same message comes up.

I tried installing while in safe mode... same message.

I tried installing via the control panel... same message.

This software installed beautifully on my desk top (WIN XP HOME)

I can find no help from software website.

Any thoughts? Thanks.

In your position, I would be inclined to contact The Learning Company's tech
support team. They're the ones most likely to know about issues concerning
installation of their products.

I should have added that the company offers no email or phone support on this
program and there's nothing on their web site that addresses the problem. But
thanks for taking the time to answer :)

I'm not familiar with that utility and am a bit hesitant to start messing
with my files by myself. In the meantime, I am able to play the game on
network using the shared files.
Thanks for the reply and the link.
