Cannot create 3D device

HI!
I have a problem and i need to know if i need to buy a new vidcard. I wanted to play operation flashpoint and i got the message CANNOT CREATE 3D DEVICE. so I started Dxdiag and found out something like that

If operation Flashpoint is a relatively new game then unfortunately your mx440 probably isn't supported...as it is definitely not directx 9 compatible, and flashpoint probably is a directx 9 game....

Well maybe directx 9 isn't compatible, like u said, with my vid card so u suggest that i instal a lower directx?
