Cannot connect with Photo program.

For some years I have been using PhotoSuite 8.1. Now that I have Windows XP
(home) and SP2, I cannot connect with it. I can have both programs running
simultaneously, and XP tells me it can't read a photo file, that it does not
know what program it came from, and do I want to look it up on their list,
(which does not include it) or do I want to find it on the Web (which is no
better). Frustrating! What I would like to do, is to open it with PhotoSuite
8.1.
Any help will be gratefully appreciated.
