Cannot activat newly bought windows xp

xp is not unable to detect that my internet connection is
up and running, so I cannot activate over the web. They
say you can activate by phone, but the area where the
phone number should be is blank.

Hi, Alway.

IS your Internet connection running? Can you navigate using IE or another
browser? Are you using that computer and Internet connection for this
conversation?

Or, did you buy the computer with WinXP already installed? Perhaps your
computer maker/vendor already activated WinXP on this computer. What make
and model computer is it?

Call This Number to Activate: Explain your problem,
Be nice ,but forceful. Don't take any crap. Ask for a
supervisor if you have a problem. Ask for their name.
Remember it's their Activation scheme, not your's, you
paid now it's up too them.

Call (800) 426-9400, and explain the situation.
