I want to place a counter in a powerpoint presentation that will start at 0
and will, thorughout the presentation increase by 1 every 30 seconds or so
and not reset to 0 whenever the slide changes. Is this possible?

Glen, thanks for this - some ideas for other times, but I am trying for a
counter that will count up on its own. The reason is I am making a
presentation in which I am talking about the problme of human traffiking and
the ongoing slave trade and I want a counter that, by increasign through the
presentation, will give an indication as to how many lives have been ruined
by this continuing trade since the presentation began. Hence starting at 0 -
increasing automatically and not resetting when I move between slides.

Hi,

These work in reverse by tweaking the vba. As for across slides, it will
probably be API. This is where we yell "help"!

I made a conscious decision to not learn vba. I am ever so happy and sleep
better at night. I can see enough possibilities for what PowerPoint "could"
do without worrying about code to make it do it <g>.

Please tell us your PowerPoint / Windows version,
whether you are using vba, or
anything else relevant

If you don't want to use vba then I think the only option would be a small
video of the countdown eg in a corner which would play across slides. It will
be quite a large file though. You can easily create a video of a screen
powerpoint countdown and add it to the presentation using free or cheap
tools. Email if this might be the way to go.
