Need a counter in a powerpoint 2000 presentation

I need a counter placed on a slide in my presentation that will update each
day. I currently have a formula in an Excel spreadsheet that I have copied
and pasted special in the powerpoint, but was wondering if there is a way to
have a counter imbedded in the PP so it is not linked to another application.

I want to count the number of days since the last event.

Here I go again with a VBA solution. You comfortable with a little
VBA? It's really quite simple. I'll post a solution if you are
comfortable with that.
