Background timed counter

I want to make a presentation in which I start a counter, counting at
$150/second, on say the third slide. I want the counter to keep counting
while I go through subsequent slides. Is there a way to do this (or even
part of this)?

OkieViking,

If you create something called 'an animated gif' - place it on the 'slide
master'..... Then i believe it will continue from slide to slide

Powerpoint cannot create animated gifs - so you need to use some other
software to create the counter
