how do i add a statistic counter

I want to add a counter to my presentation without timing my slides. I have
a specific statistic that occurs every 10 seconds, I want to reveal the
statistic after my presentation, while the audience wonders what the counter
stands for, or what it is counting.

How about assigning a macro to a shape and having it look at:

ActivePresentation.SlideShowWindow.View.PresentationElapsedTime

This gives the length in seconds that the current slideshow has been
running. Divide it by 10 and you have your answer, if I've understood
you correctly.
