Can XML feature in Office 2003 be used between PowerPoint and Exce

I would like to place information fields in the notes pages of a PowerPoint
template that when filled in will be stored in a database and sent to an
Excell spreadsheet. I completed the tutorial that shows how to set up the
documents for Excell, but can't find any mention of how to access the data in
PowerPoint.

PowerPoint doesn't support XML so this can't be done the way you'd like to.
