Can the Dial Up Modem Be Used at the Same Time as DSL?

I have a Dell Dimension 8200 computer with windows XP Pro (SP2). I am using
SBC for the DSL, with the 2Wire for the Router. I am using the dialup modem
(Conexant HSF V92 56K RTAD Speakerphone PCI) that came with the computer and
use MSN as my second ISP. I have a microfilter connected to the phone jack.
From the microfilter there is one line going to the 2Wire for DSL, and one
line going to the UPS and from there to the computer for the dialup modem.

I am wondering if it is okay for the computer to use both ISP connections at
the same time? I tried it once and it appeared to work okay but was unsure
about not causing any damage to windows XP and/or the computer hardware.
Would appreciate any comments and suggestions. Thanks, Sam.

You're okay and it won't harm the hardware. Satellite ISP's use a similar
setup, download on the broadband connection (Ethernet jack) and upload on
the modem connection. And, since you can have multiple instances of IE
running or other browsers, no problem there.
