I have two machines running XP and Office 2000 with Outlook 2000. I can
create a new message and send no problem. If I receive a new message or try
to reply or forward the status bar will go half way and I get server not did
not respond. Virus files are updated, ran adware and spybot on both machines.
Deleted almost all exisiting messages and archived others. I can reply to or
forward messages to anyone on the same mail server. I thought it was a mail
server problem, however I took my laptop onsite and had no problems. I ran
the detect and repair option and still no luck. All XP updates have been
installed. I have extended the server timeout, added a new account and
resetup the account, and I am running out of ideas. PLease help!!!!!

If you are scanning your mail with an a/v package, disable that scanning
(you may have to uninstall and reinstall, leaving out that option). Mail
scanning can interfere with the proper sending/receiving or mail and is most
times completely unnecessary.

Thanks for the reply. It was set to scan sending and I turned it off but
still have the problem. Do I need to uninstall or can I simply disable auto
protect?
