This has started within the last few weeks. I contacted att and I have
everthing set up correctly. They thought it could be my antivirus software.
I actually uninstalled the software.... and I still can not send. I didn't
do any updates or change anything - just one day it worked and the next day
it didn't. As I stated - I receive them just fine but I can't send any.
They sit in my outbox and I get no error messages. Please help - any
suggestions?

Thanks

If there is an accumulation of messages in the Outbox folder, open
the Outbox folder. Move as many of those messages as you can to
the Drafts folder. If any won't move or can't be deleted,
apply this Microsoft fix:

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/941090

Which antivirus did you uninstall? Some require a special debris removal tool.

I also seen the same issue. But my error message does not same as below.
This is error from my windows amil.
The connection to the server has failed. Subject 'eee', Account:
'mail.auleetech.com', Server: 'mail.singnet.sg', Protocol: SMTP, Port: 25,
Secure(SSL): No, Socket Error: 10060, Error Number: 0x800CCC0E

Please advise what's worng with the setting?

many thanks
Eric

There were only 5 but one wouldn't delete so I applied the microsoft fix that
you attached and that has fixed the problem. Thank you very much - I
appreciate your help!!

Hi Gary, mant thanks.
I have check with singnet and password and username are both valid. Please
find my error message because I can used either "mail.auleetech.com" or "
mail.singnet.com.sg" for outgoing mail.

Try doing Point 17 here:
http://www.singnet.com.sg/technical/email/win_ol6/configure.htm

When you got that error message was your Internet connection being
obtained through Singnet?

If yes, which antivirus are you running?

Do you get a similar error message when attempting to send via mail.auleetech.com?
That is understandable because they are not your Internet provider. As a general
rule, the owner of the SMTP server must be the same as the one providing your
Internet connection at that moment. For more on this, see
http://www.postcastserver.com/help/Port_25_Blocking.aspx

Hi Gary,
I'm using McAfee Antivirus and I have disabled all the prodection for the
email and network.
I got this error while the mail was failed to send out. I have checked all
the prosiblilities of all the password and username.

Again, how do i check "port 25 blocking" thru "network diagnostic" as i used
Windows Vista Premium SP1 32 Bit.

Thank you

Hi Gary,
soory for not answering your question. I'm using Malaysia's provider called
Streamyx which is under Telekom Malaysia.
Should I try to uninstall the McAfee to try?
Thank you

Eric

Go to tools>accounts>select your account>properties>server tab and try
changing the SMTP server name to: smtp.streamyx.com
Apply/ok the change, try sending.

No need to uninstall McAfee at this point because it is probably not
causing this particular problem.
Most likely, your Streamyx provider is blocking your ability to use any
other SMTP server on port 25. This is standard anti-spammer policy as
explained here:
http://www.postcastserver.com/help/Port_25_Blocking.aspx

As a general rule, the owner of the SMTP server must be the same as
the one providing your Internet connection at that moment. So, as
already advised, change your SMTP server to the one operated by
Streamyx.
