can not wake up the tablet?

Gateway M285-E. Windows vista. Can not wakeup the notebook? Try any keys,
including the power button. The display is black. Everytime, I have to push
the power button for 4 seconds to close the notebook.

Sometimes, when I try to wakeup the computer, the logon screen will be
several seconds, then disppear.

Any suggestion? Thanks.

I had the same problem on Acer notebook.
The only way I found to fix it is to turn off sleep mode and make sure the
hard disk is not set to sleep after a certain time. I make sure I only let
the screen go idle.

Nvidia graphics by any chance? Try unplugging or plugging in the power lead
to see if that'll wake it up, its a bug in the drivers.

Same problem on my Protégé M200. I enabled hybrid sleep which does wake the
screen up as it starts up slightly differently than sleep, yet is still much
faster than hibernate.
