Can not use microphone - need help

The computer installed winxp sp2 home,

when plug in microphone find winxp does not detect the microphone, and can
not proceed any futher setup steps. microphone and computer are check work
OK.

what is the problem and how to solve it ?

your advise is highly appricated
 
Hi 123,

Windows XP does not detect any microphones. The program you are using it with and the Sound Drivers controls the Microphone.
