Can I Create a Restore Disk without doing a full backup?

I just spent over 8 hours backing up my computer but did not have my A drive
attached. When it finished, it told me there was no A drive and I could not
use the restore function. I tried doing an incremental backup but did not get
prompted to create a restore disk. I have a bootable floppy but I am sure
more data is needed.

Do I need to blow another 8 hours doing another full backup?

Thanks!

I can't imagine what good a floppy would do for a backup.

Windows backup is not a very good tool.

If you only need to backup your data,
no program is needed at all.
simply burn your data to DVD's
or copy it to an external drive. Better still, do both.

To backup your entire system
I's advise using a 3rd party utility
such as Acronis...the clone your entire drive to another drive

Thanks for the quick response. The floppy is to restore what got backed up
should the need arise. You are the second person who suggested 3rd party sw
so I will take a look at that option. I looked at Acronis and it is a
possibility.

I do have my data backed up on an external drive by the way. I see our great
minds are in sync. :)

Yes...I keep most of my data on a total of three different HD's

Anyway I use Acronis and like it
they let you download it and use it on a trial basis...
so you do not have to pay for it unless it does the job for you.

It has sure saved my butt a few times when I had
a hot HD problem and lost my Win2k registry a few times.
I was glad I had a working clone!!!!
