can an email connect to the www ?

Hi
I do recive a lot of SPAM and some of it has html-codes.
Apon reciving an email can that email connect to the www and get its contains ?
and by that reveal my IP ??

How do I recive txt only and no html ?

Yes; What version of Outlook? Only Outlook 2002/2003 can treat all html as
plain text.
