ARRRHHHH!!!!

hi, wonder if anyone can help.

right well, we run exchange 5,5 on an nt domain but since
doing various updates and sevice packs we now find that
client machines are not reciving email notifications,
seems if you have an program open above outlook, you will
not recive emails untill you either reopen outlook, or
hit seen and recive or flick between folders.. this is
happening on all version of client machine, running
xp,98,2000 and on all verions of office (outlook)
97,2000,2003

some machines seem fine, others are not, have removed
profiles and redone to no affect!

hope that makes sense and any ideas or help would be
appresiated.

Thanks
Scott

It and does and this generally means that a UDP packet from the Exchange
server to the client is not being received. This packet travels on a
arbitrary port > 1023.

The only other issues that come to mind are the use of NAT between
server/client and personal/desktop firewalls.
